Tools Used

Ideas & Inspiration
Although it is mainly inspired by the illustrations of Michael G. Haddad, another great reference was the Persona 5 UI, an unconventional but quite functional interface.

Wireframes
First I designed the base idea in Illustrator and modified it right there to eventually export it to After Effects and animate it. I implemented the texture and color directly in After Effects.

Animation
To give that retro effect, the animation is done at 12 fps. I liked the idea of morphing the main bar as you navigate through each button.

Outcomes
It was very practical to work on this project, although it was simple, I consider it to be visually homogeneous and it also served to:
Transfer an illustrator's aesthetic to a new design
Continue practicing animation techniques
I definitely need to get back into it and be able to add more interaction screens to the project.
